However, if you were testing for things that couldn't happen, you could potentially impact performance. There's no reason to put in sanity checks for something that could never occur. You write code based on what you feel is necessary. ![]() ![]() The game was initially designed for the PC, where users didn't have access to saves. This is fundamental programming knowledge. As for why there aren't already sanity checks in place, it's simple: I 100% guarantee that there are already validation checks in the code to prevent issues such as crashing on Blizzard's end. Additionally, even if remote loading were being used on PC, where calculations are performed on their servers, it would have a negligible impact on either side. It is ultimately Blizzard's responsibility to handle this situation on their end. Different games have different save layouts, and the actual data in the saves does not belong to Sony.
